Most underrated song

So in this thread we could discuss songs from Phil's catalogue that in your opinion are most underrated.

In my opinion, one or the most underrated song from Phil is We Fly So Close .

then again, "Please Don't

then again, "Please Don't Ask" breaks my heart..

yes, you are right its truly

yes, you are right its truly underrated, I however am a sucker for "It's Over" & "Take Me With You", both rare tracks from a CD i picked up at the Paris, Dance into The Light show, a toyota charity CD. I love it. Here's to the Alamo My Philip.,  Barrie

I think We Fly So Close is

I think We Fly So Close is probably one,of  if not the best, songs Phil has ever done, just amazing. That song for me displays what Phil thought he had achieved with Both Sides, although some people found it hard to see that. I think its a great album overall.

Aside from that, I think Through My Eyes, 11th song on Testify is really great!

I LOVE the Both Sides

I LOVE the Both Sides album... It felt like one his most " pour thy heart out" albums until the Testify album. But I think one of his most under-rated songs is " You know what I mean" from Face Value... you can just hear the pain in his voice coming out. And with nothing but him and his piano... it's simple but haunting.

As far as his most under-rated song in Genesis.. I'm going to have to say " Hold on My Heart " LOL hahahaha j/k... I think it would have to be Driving the Last Spike.

We talking Phil or we talking

We talking Phil or we talking Genesis? Afterglow was written by Tony. Philly Phil just supplied the pipes : )

Favorite "under the radar" Phil tune: Through These Walls. Incredibly clever.

oh yes very very good song

oh yes very very good song indeed

I think that the entire Hello

I think that the entire Hello I Must Be Going album was highly underrated. Songs  such as "Don't Let Him Steal Your Heart Away," "Like China," and "It Don't Matter To Me" would have been huge back in 1982. Maybe not so much in the US with the release of the "Thriller" album which was an invasion, but they were definitely overlooked and underrated.

Yes, Hello I Must Be Going is

Yes, Hello I Must Be Going is pretty much overlooked I think.  It surprised me to find out it didn't get to Number One as I thought it was an accomplished follow-up to Face Value.  More focused, a tighter, more consistent sound with a feeling that here was a band playing rather than a bunch of special guests.  And no drum machine!

However, as underrated as that album is, I think even less people are aware of the material on Both Sides and, especially, Dance Into The Light.  In which case, I'll say No Matter Who.  I've seen this song get knocked on the old official site and I really don't know why.  Great sentiment, wonderful, laid-back feel with such an infectious groove.  I love the song and I love the album it came from.

Very well said ASTF. I pretty

Very well said ASTF. I pretty much overlooked No Matter Who at the outset, but the more I've listened to the song, the more I like. "Laid back feel". That's it precisely.

AFTERGLOW has the words 'and

AFTERGLOW has the words 'and walk upon stranger roads than this on, in a world I used to know before'

Yes a really GREAT song
