Phil's retirement
I want to publicly thank Phil for ALL of the great music, and as a musician myself, the joy and inspiration his work has provided to me for so many years. Whether or not he returns to music, I hope that any physical pain he is in abates. I hope that he is not REALLY giving any serious credence to anyone who would denigrate his talents or contributions; any so-called professionals (N. Gallagher or anyone else) who would do so either have already vanished from memory, or will do so long before people forget Phil's gorgeous composition, singing and drumming.
God bless you, Phil - you will never be a "Fading Light" to me.

Phil. The first Album I saved
Phil. The first Album I saved up my pocket money and purchased was Trick of the Tail and what ever happens in music I always seem to find you waiting whether Im feeling Blue, Happy, Thoughtful or well however I feel there is always something in your amazing catalogue of music to fit. I wish you and your family every happiness and if by chance like the fabulous Going Back you decide to come out of retirement to maybe do something or other I will be there to have a listen. Oh by the way. ScReW tHE PReSs!
If by any chance you ever come to Bournemouth Look me up, I'd love to shake your hand and have a chat over a cup of tea.

What an amazing artist. Â I
What an amazing artist. I have a radio station on Pandora titled PHIL COLLINs. Your talents will be greatly missed. I just now registered for a fan & have never done so for any other artist, not because they didn't deserve it, but because he apologized for his sucess. You should not do that, just because it wasn't your best effort in your opinion doesnt mean that it wasn't enjoyed by many.

i echo these sentiments (i am also a musician) - this is the first i've heard of phil's retirement so i wanted to express how amazing his body of work has been (continuously) not heard about any of the other rumors or speculation but spending time with family is a very good reason to officially or unofficially retire for a bit. hopefully phill you know how much all your fans appreicate the time you've given (and may continue to give) to all your former and future projects.

I just read the news and am so bummed out to think that Phil would feel that nobody would miss him. Phil... the impact that you have had on not only my life, but 3 generations of my family and friends. I'm sure you could never know what you've done for millions of people.
I have made a living in the business for 30+ years now and I owe you for being the person I am today. I am a respected Audio engineer and have been Stage Manager for the John Fogerty band for 6 years now. When I was a young teen I was a punk kid not knowing where I would fit in. Your music turned me around... inspired me with good messages as I studied everthing you've done. I hold you directly responsible for mot of the geat things in my life. I am now because of you a very content person!!! (other than the fact that one of my life goals was to work on one of your tours)
Now my daughter (she's been singing your songs since she was 1 year old) is currently in negotiations with several labels and is writing music that inspires people because of the inspiration you've been to her.
I can't express enough that you will be missed more than you can ever know. I want to wish you a well deserved retirement...you've given so much to us at your physical expense. We love you, we WILL miss you and our deepest thoughts and prayers are with you "always and always"
I believe we are coming back to Switzerland this year and I am gonna try every connection I've ever made to meet up with you (again) to hug you and tell you in person THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU'VE GIVEN TO INSPIRE THE WORLD TO BE A BETTER PLACE.
FOR ME AND MILLIONS OF OTHERS YOU ARE AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO MUSIC.
lOVE AND PEACE TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
Sincerely,
Timmy Schad

I have never posted on a fan site before but am an ardent admirere and was taken back to read the news of his retirement. I too would like to publicly say THANK YOU! I realize that his choice to entertain us, although rewarding also came at great personal sacrifice. I wish him well and hope that he finds great peace and happiness in this stage of his life! Again thank you to you and your family for sharing your many talents with us over the years! Be well & God bless!

Thank you Phil for all the music that has brought much joy to my life. I love the songs "Two Hearts" and "Another day in Paradise". You have put on many great concerts. I hope that you can truly retire and take care of youself and your family and be able to enjoy the time you have left. No regrets. You've given it your all. Anybody who has seen one of your concerts would agree. You will be truly missed but your music lives on forever. Always in my heart!!
One of your greatest fans.
