My first was NJR - Sheffield City Hall as a student .. the Saturday before the album came out. I loved every second of it.
I have been lucky enough to see every tour since (but missed the Testify showcase gigs)
But Seriously was a brilliant show. I saw that one at the NEC in Birmingham
The best was DITL by a long way. It was a real fan set list. It had a combination of hits and album tracks. I booked the ticket a year before the gig only to turn up to Earls court to discover the concert was 'in the round' and we where nearly at the front.
I would love to see Both Sides again. I had terrible seats at Wembley for that one.
FFFT was a brilliant extra for any fan because I, like most fans, did not expect it. I took full advantage and went 3 times (London, Helsinki and Glasgow).
Although the show was really good it was too hit based for a fan - who wants to hear album tracks as well.
I also saw the first Going Back showcase in New York. This was really special.
I am looking forward to the album. It is a real return to form for Phil and the show was stunning .. my only minor issue with it is he played nothing from is own repertoire (other than You Can't Hurry Love). I think a couple of songs which fitted the spirit of evening would have moved it from a really special night to an extraordinary night. However, I felt privileged to see it.
I hope it was not the last time .. who knows (apart from Phil)
Hi 'guys' - the Final Farewell Tour was cool - it was considerate of Phil to take time out to say an official goodbye to his fans and the Manchester concert that I was lucky enough to secure tickets for was special and meant a lot to me...
The First gig of mine was Wednesday 17th December Earls Court in the Round.... it was the DITL tour and it was Excellent,
The show after that was Testify BBC Radio 2 La Scala in Kings Cross London. Very intimate gig! November 2002
Then there was the Manchester gig in 2004 ( Car I was traveling in Broke Down ) I never made it to the gig.
Then there was the Glasgow gig in November 2005, hell of a long drive.... not the best Phil show ever really as the set list was almost a Greatest Hits tour...
As for the comments about INSIDE OUT, It was first performed on the No Jacket Required tour! As the Melbourne bootleg demonstrates.
