This remaster is a new one--different from the Atlantic one released in '93. This one is done by who is probably the most respected man in the field, Steve Hoffman, whereas the '93 was done by Ted Jensen. I have both, and they are different--the new one is DYNAMIC!  But, I love both.  Hey, why wouldn't I?  It's my favorite album ever!   Now, if we can just get 'em to release a deluxe edition with all the demos and especially that elusive "The Roof Is Leaking" with Clapton that's played with and teased on the "Classic Albums" dvd!!

"The Roof is Leaking" is one of my top five favourite Phil songs, but I have to say, after seeing that Classic Albums show, I would love it even more with that alternative Eric Clapton guitar track. hehehe...I loved the look on Phil's face when he was listening to it...well, hindsight's twenty-twenty.

I think Nick Davis didn't succeeded when he remastered Invisible Touch or We Can't Dance. They sounded too compressed and kind of awful - i don't know what happened to him at the remastering stage.

I think I will wait unti Nick Davis gets the time and go ahead to remaster all of Phil's albums into surround sound like he did for the entire Genesis catalog.

I have one of these '24 Karat Gold Limited, Numbered Editions' (obviously not this one) and I must admit it's my most prized possession just because of the principle of it.

In practice, it's not very expensive and to be honest the sound isn't greatly better than a standard re-master but it's just really cool to have.

P.S: When you hold the disc up to the light you can see through it, it's actually really cool.

I thought I remembered this back in the mid-90's. FACE VALUE and ABACAB were both 24k gold "remasters." I remember seeing them at my local Circuit City stores. Interesting to see that F.V. is being printed again.
