Remaster old albums
I think it would be great if there was a remaster release of Phils older Albums.
The SACD versions of the Genesis albums are great. I don't think it would need to go that far with Phil's but the quality of the Albums on the CD's I have don't sound as load and clear as newer released CD's
These are such great albums to have them remasered would be so great.

I think I'd rather see
I think I'd rather see Blu-rays of Perkins Palace and No Ticket Required Concerts. This is Phil at his peak. They would take people to his concerts in their lounge rooms.

Probably because his CDs were
Probably because his CDs were mastered properly and sound brilliant that they haven't been remastered. Most CDs today are clipped and compressed to hell.
Still a modern remastering and mild tweaks would make them sound even better.

the first four of his catalogue have been - just not released
I think these are over due ..
I think these are over due .. there are lots of extra's, demo's and rarities which would make a really good set of CD's.
Throw some live stuff as well .. (the only official live CD was from But Seriously .. if you exclude the rare soundboard CD circa DITL) .. then you have a good selection of music and a possible great package of material.
I would be interested
I believe remastered editions
I believe remastered editions will see the light of day soon. Some of the artwork for the CDs have remained the same since 1983, yet there are later versions of "Face Value" and "...But Seriously" with new picture labels. These are still available. We wait and we wonder, to quote the man himself!
i would love to see all of
i would love to see all of phil's albums remastered
with demos and bonus tracks included on them
or an archive boxset with a live show on it like "the both sides tour"
(its great to have the new site up and running looks excellent, hope the store has other things to order in the future)
As announced by Phil himself
As announced by Phil himself on the previous incarnation of his official site over half a decade ago, the first four of his albums have been remastered and gotten the 5.1 treatment. In fact, the version of One More Night on the Love Songs compilation is a stereo fold down of the 5.1 track. However, for whatever reason they have not been released.
Allan Sides did the work, who worked on Testify with Phil circa 2000-2002
Phil Collins' wonderful music
Phil Collins' wonderful music in audiophile-quality (i.e., NOT like the recent Genesis remasters), high-resolution, aggressive/discrete 5.1 surround sound...what a dream come true that would be! I remember Phil's comments about the surround sound mixes back on the old forum (those were good times), but I could never remember if "...But Seriously" (my favorite PC album) was included in that project or not. Since Warner/Atlantic/Rhino have basically abandoned DVD-Audio, and Virgin/EMI abandoned SACD, I am saddened to think that the best we can ever do in terms of "high"-resolution surround is DTS 96/24. Nevertheless, I continue to promote and fight for DVD-Audio and SACD and hope that PC would do whatever he could to release his music in the highest-quality possible. His albums deserve and the music demands a proper, high-resolution surround release.
I had completely forgotten that "One More Night" on "Love Songs" was a stereo fold down, but now that you mention it, that rings a bell too.
I would warn folks to be careful about wishing for remastered albums. While getting a proper release of all of Phil's b-sides is long overdue, especially since so many of them were a-side quality, I am hesitant to ask for a remastering of the original albums not only because the original production quality is fantastic, but also because, these days, "remastering" usually results in poorer sound quality (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Gmex_4hreQ).
